Another? In the latest school shooting on Tuesday, a teen with a rifle killed a student and slightly wounded a teacher at Reynolds High School in the Portland suburb of Troutdale. The gunman apparently killed himself in a bathroom stall. It was the second to last day of the school year.
5 American troops killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan
It was one of the deadliest incidents in the nearly 14-year Afghan war. Five American troops and one Afghan soldier were killed in an apparent friendly fire tragedy in Afghanistan. The troops were conducting a security operation when they were attacked by insurgents. They reportedly called for air support during an operation and were killed mistakenly by a NATO airstrike.

Hillary Clinton's new book is out (oh, and she's not exactly 'dead broke')
It's here, and it's an encyclopedic 635 pages long. Don't fret, you can still get all the important bits from Hillary Clinton's memoir, Hard Choices, by reading our five key passages. But the bigger news today was Clinton working to contain the damage from her comment Monday to ABC's Diane Sawyer that she and her presidential hubby were 'dead broke' after they left the White House (she was trying to defend the massive speaking fees she and Bill earn). On Tuesday, during a live interview with ABC News, she backtracked: 'We have a life experience that is clearly different in very dramatic ways from many Americans, but we also have gone through some of the same challenges many people have.'

Surge of migrant kids left at border a 'humanitarian crisis'
They're fleeing for their lives. Border Patrol in Texas has been overwhelmed by a surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America crossing the border illegally. They've shipped 750 children to Arizona -- which has a lot of resources to deal with the illegal crossings -- since last week. President Obama has called the situation 'a humanitarian crisis.' So why are so many children crossing now? Gang violence in El Salvador and in urban areas of Guatemala has escalated dramatically in recent months since a weak truce among rival gangs has evaporated. Here's a breakdown of the crisis.

U.S. gold medalist severs spine in ATV accident
The injury is devastating. Six-time Olympic gold-medal-winning swimmer Amy Van Dyken Rouen was in the hospital on Monday in an intensive-care unit in Scottsdale after suffering injuries during an all-terrain vehicle accident on Friday. Her husband, former Denver Broncos punter Tom Rouen, told the Denver Post that she suffered a broken back in the accident. A post on Facebook from the Van Dyken and Rouen families said she severed her spinal cord at the T11 verbebra and that the broken vertebra came within millimeters of rupturing her aorta.
