The US has scrambled two fighter jets to investigate the pilot of a private plane over the Atlantic Ocean who failed to respond to air traffic control.
A North American air defence spokesman says the jets were launched at 11:30 local time (15:30 GMT).
The plane was scheduled to fly from Rochester, New York, to Naples, Florida, before it went off course,
The jets have broken away from the plane while it is in Cuban airspace.
