A woman has been found beheaded in a garden in north London.
The victim was found at an address in Nightingale Road, Edmonton, just after 1pm local time on Thursday.
Scotland Yard gave few details but said a 25-year-old man had been arrested after police were called to reports of a stabbing incident.
'On arrival officers discovered a female collapsed in a garden area.
'A man has been detained and remains in custody.
'At this very early stage we are not in a position to give further details.'
There is no suggestion that the killing had any terrorist motive, following the recent beheadings of two US journalists in Syria by Islamic jihadists.
