It's the busiest travel day of the year.On Wednesday, millions of people will pack up to make it to their Thanksgiving destination.
For a large section of the east coast, traveling will be difficult and that could create delays across the country.
Wednesday will probably test your patience if you're traveling anywhere. According to AAA, the number of drivers on the roads today through Sunday will be the highest we've seen since 2007.
Even though gas prices have jumped a little bit over the past few days, they're still the lowest we've seen, especially over the holidays in several years. In 2014, AAA predicts more than 46-million people will travel more than 50 miles from home.
'Make sure your tires are in good condition, the fluids are all check and okay; there's nothing worse than breaking down. It also pays to know how to drive in bad conditions,' Christopher Oakford, with AAA Lexington, said.
A couple of reminders if you're flying:
- There is a winter storm that's expected to affect much of the northeast so that could cause some delays.
-Bluegrass Airport officials are asking people who are traveling today to get to the airport up to an hour and a half before your scheduled flight.

After years of tightening their belts during the recession and the slow economic recovery, Californians appear ready to let loose and do a little celebrating out of town.
