BOSTON (CBS) - Police have responded to Mass. Eye And Ear where police say a deputy sheriff and a suspect have been shot.
Boston Police say one person is in custody.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis says two deputy sheriffs brought a prisoner in for treatment.
As the sheriffs removed the man's handcuffs, the man lunged at one of the deputy sheriffs, grabbed his gun and shot him in the leg.
The second deputy sheriff shot the prisoner.
Police say the deputy sheriff is in serious condition but expected to be OK.
The suspect is said to be in critical condition at Mass. General Hospital with a more serious gunshot wound.
Boston Police say they are not looking for additional suspects.
Police have shut down the area around Mass. Eye And Ear and Mass. General Hospital.
Patients are being told to reschedule if they had an appointment at the hospital.
