In the wake of yet another mass-shooting, this time in Las Vegas, the Republican Congress is planning to vote this week on legislation permitting felons, and everyone else, to buy silencers without a background check. Under current law, everyone must get a background before buying a silencer, and then they have to register it. Under the GOP bill, that’s all gone.
