Author Sarah Kendzior (“The View from Flyover Country”) talks to us about how the media continues to enable Donald Trump, and how they/we can more effectively confront the Trump “kleptocracy.”
Here is an 18-minute clip from today’s UnPresidented podcast interview with Sarah:
Sarah is an expert on the former Soviet republics (also known as the “stans”), and she also provided an interesting comparison of the Trump autocracy with the modern-day dictators of the former Soviet Union — and she talked about how lessons-learned from challenging those dictators could be used to confront Trump. We also had an lengthy discussion about political hagiography, and the importance of not treating politicians, of either party, as gods. And finally, we wrap up with a discussion about the North Korea fiasco, and then Sarah’s book. Overall, just a great talk. Sarah is simply fascinating. We know you’ll enjoy this one.
