A New Hampshire man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping Abigail Hernandez.
Nathaniel Kibby, 34, was charged with felony kidnapping for confining Hernandez on Oct. 9 in Conway, New Hampshire 'with a purpose to commit an offense against her,' said a press release from the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
Kibby was arrested just after noon Monday at his home at 4 Brookside Drive in Gorham, New Hampshire. He will be arraigned Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Conway District Court.
Hernandez, 15, who disappeared Oct. 9 after leaving her high school, returned to her home in North Conway on July 20.
'Over the course of the past week, law enforcement officers have worked around the clock to ascertain the facts and circumstances surrounding Abigail's disappearance and return,' the press release said.
It said Hernandez provided the details that enabled officers to arrest Kibby.
Authorities are asking that anyone with information about Kibby or activity at his home since Oct. 9 to contact New Hampshire State Police at 603-271-3636 or Conway police at 603-356-5715.
