SACO, Maine (AP) -- Police say five members of a Maine family have been found dead.
State police spokesman Steve McCausland says the bodies of a father, mother and three children were found Sunday afternoon inside an apartment in downtown Saco.
Saco Police Chief Brad Paul says the crime scene is confined to the apartment and there does not appear to be any public danger. Paul says a concerned neighbor called police after going to the apartment to check on the well-being of the occupants and seeing a body inside.
Saco is a city of about 18,000 people in southern Maine, about 10 miles southwest of Portland.
The neighborhood in which the bodies were found lies along the Saco River.
