The trade was first reported by Arthur Staple of Newsday. The Bruins will receive a 2015 second-round pick, a 2016 second-round pick and a conditional 2015 third-round pick.
Boychuk, 30, who has spent the past six seasons with Boston, was long rumored to be a trade candidate this offseason as the Bruins struggle to fit their roster under the NHL salary cap. Boychuk's cap hit for 2014-15 was more than $3.3 million.
The Bruins have officially announced the trade and have scheduled a press conference at 4:30 Saturday, ahead of their preseason finale against the Detroit Red Wings at TD Garden.
