Benedict Cumberbatch is reportedly in talks to star in Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange project.
Colin Farrell, Tom Hardy, Johnny Depp and Joaquin Phoenix had all been linked to the role previously, but according to Deadline the studio has chosen Sherlock's Cumberbatch to take on the part.
While Cumberbatch was previously rumoured to be in contention for the role, it was thought his theatre commitments would interfere.
However, it seems Doctor Strange will not be going into production as early as originally thought, and a July 2016 release is currently the target.
