The Wall Street Journal reports that Donald Trump was surprised on hearing what a big job it is to be president.
You just can’t make this stuff up.
Last week, President Obama walked Trump “through the duties of running the country,” and Trump “seemed surprised by the scope,” according to people familiar with the meeting.

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.
Jason Miller, communications director for the Trump transition, declined to comment.
The fact that Trump’s communication director declined to comment only makes the story sound all the more real. Why wouldn’t Miller deny the story if it were false?
Oh, but it gets better. On realizing that Trump was woefully unprepared for the presidency, President Obama reportedly decided he needed to give Trump more My First Presidency classes than incoming presidents normally need.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.
And lest you think this is a one-off occurrence, the New York Times story this weekend was equally scary. Trump isn’t sure how much time he actually wants to spend in the White House, according to the Times. You see, the paper explains, the poor guy is apparently feeling overwhelmed:
Mr. Trump’s advisers hold out the possibility that the president-elect may spend more time in the White House as he grows less overwhelmed and more comfortable in the job.
Putting aside for a moment how inappropriate it would be for Trump to not officially move into the White House, but the notion that he’s feeling “overwhelmed” by the presidency, and is anything less than “comfortable in the job,” is terrifying.
How comfortable is he going to be feel if Vladmir Putin tries to move nuclear missiles back into Cuba?
