The new compromise Republican plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) contains a provision exempting members of Congress and their staff from the repeal.
Yes, you heard that right. Congress is going to repeal Obamacare for you and me, and keep it for themselves.

The latest GOP repeal effort, reportedly signed off by the Trump White House and at least one House GOP moderate, guts pre-existing conditions protections and the ACA’s requirement that all insurance include basic coverage for maternity, prescription drugs, emergency services, lab test, and more.
But none of that will apply to members of Congress or their staff, who will be exempt from the bill’s provisions, and thus will retain their pre-existing condition protections and their protections for basic benefits.
I’m at a loss for adjectives to describe just how outrageous this is.
Under the House GOP proposal, insurance companies can once again charge women more for the same policy they sell men, simply because “women cost too much.” They can also triple your premiums, or more, because you have allergies, or asthma, or high cholesterol. And forget about what they’re gonna do if you get something serious like cancer.
The House Republicans, and Donald Trump, want us to go back to a system where health insurance is only affordable so long as you don’t use it.
But not for them!
