Three people are dead after a former UPS employee, wearing his uniform, opened fire inside an Alabama warehouse Tuesday morning.
The gunman is among the dead at the Birmingham shipping center, police said.
The gunfire at Inglenook Lane was reported to police around 9:21 a.m. as an active shooter, Chief A.C. Roper said. All of the victims were UPS employees, the chief said. The gunman shot himself, police said.
'We had people die today who didn't deserve it,' Roper said.
All of the dead were found in the warehouse area near the building's offices, Roper said.
There were no other injuries at the facility near the city's airport on the northeast side. A motive was unclear, the chief told reporters at a press conference.
