MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) - An Amber Alert was been issued Thursday for four missing boys after a woman's body, believed to be that of their mother, was discovered in the family's car, police said.
Erica Perez, 39, and her husband Daniel Perez, 43, along with their four sons - Jordan, 11, Jaiden, 9, Tristan, 8 and Alex, 6 - were reported missing from their Montebello home Tuesday, police reported.
The couple has a fifth son who has been staying with his grandmother.
Police said neither Erica or Daniel Perez had been answering their cell phones and that Daniel had not shown up for work for days. The couple also had a history of domestic violence.
Montebello police said a tip led to the discovery of the woman's body in the trunk of a black Honda Wednesday evening. The vehicle was parked at Harding Avenue and 3 rd Street, next to Beverly Hospital near their home.
Authorities are awaiting on confirmation of the identity from the coroner.
Daniel Perez is considered a suspect in the disappearance of the boys.
'We just want to know where the kids are. Please Danny, bring the kids back. Just drop them off at a fire station somewhere, don't hurt them, please. They're innocent,' Erica Perez' sister, Pamela Valdez, said tearfully at a news conference.
Daniel Perez was last seen driving a 2014 black Toyota Camry with California license plate, 7FDS891.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Montebello police at (323)887-1313.
