Avatar is getting four sequels, director James Cameron just announced at CinemaCon!
“We have decided to embark on a truly massive cinematic process,” James said (via THR), announcing plans to release Avatar 2 during Christmas 2018, with one every year after that.
“I’ve been working the last couple of years with a team of four top screenwriters to design the world of Avatar going forward: The characters, the creatures, the environment, the new cultures.”
An Avatar sequel has been in the works for years, but had been delayed. The 2009 movie grossed $2.8 billion worldwide.
