(NECN: Justin Michaels, Boston, Mass.) - The jury could be pretty far along in their deliberations in the trial of James 'Whitey' Bulger, because a question they asked yesterday had to deal with the very last count on the indictment.Tommy Donahue, son of alleged Bulger victim Michael Donohue, said, "Today was my guess. I thought they would've come back with the verdict today but obviously I was wrong."Day three of jury deliberations in the Bulger trial had alleged victims families getting antsy.Patricia Donohue, widow of Michael Donohue, said, "I'm hoping it won't be a hung jury. I'm praying it'll be a the verdict that we want to hear."As day four of deliberations got underway, Bulger arrived in his usual fashion. As all eyes are on this jury of eight men and four women, the questions remains, what are they going to do?Could a jury question Thursday, about guns with their serial numbers obliterated, be a sign the end is near? It's the final charge in the indictment.Tommy Donohue said, "I was hoping if that was it and you know, we should've heard something during the afternoon time but, you know, we don't know if they're jumping around in there, or where they're at, that's why I really don't try to speculate."But whether a verdict is near or not, one person who is not rushing this along is Judge Denise Casper. Before court Thursday, she clarified her instructions on the racketeering charges. She told the jury she expects them to carefully deliberate on each and every charge before moving on.J.W. Carney, Bulger's defense lawyer, said, "They have taken their constitutional role with great seriousness and are clearly looking closely at the evidence, evaluating the credibility of witnesses and applying the instructions given to them by Judge Casper."Bulger has pleaded not guilty to all 32 charges. He is being held without bail.
