A South Miami man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife on Thursday. Pictures of a dead body was posted on his Facebook account.
The suspect, Derek Medina, 31, turned himself in to police Thursday after he reportedly shot Jennifer Alonso, according to a post on Medina's personal Facebook account.
Medina told authorities that he had a domestic dispute with his wife. He then shot her, Miami-Dade police said.
Police found the body of a woman in the townhouse at 5555 SW 67th Ave. A 10-year-old girl was escorted from the home by police officers. She was not injured and emerged wrapped in a blanket.
Police have not confirmed that Medina posted his crime on social media. But the post read: "I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife. Love you guys. Miss you guys. Take care. Facebook people you'll see me in the news."
The grisly photograph shows the woman in black leotards, her legs at an awkward angle. Her left arm and left cheek are bloody.
Medina said his wife was abusing him, according to his Facebook page.
"My wife was punching me and I'm not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did. Hope u understand me."
This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
