Four men were rescued from the Gulf of Mexico after their boat capsized Sunday some 23 miles west of Anna Maria Island, the Coast Guard said.
After the men radioed the Coast Guard to report that their 28-foot boat was taking on water, communications was lost, and the Watchstanders Sector St. Petersburg issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast.
A 45-foot response boat from the Coast Guard's Cortez station and an NH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Clearwater were dispatched to search for the men.
The response boat crew found the boat capsized and the four men in the water, clinging to the hull. All were rescued and returned to the shore, the Coast Guard said.
No injuries were reported. The men have not been identified.
