USADaily -
In rather bizarre news, incoming Republican President Donald Trump has announced that he won’t really be president until the Monday after his inauguration, as he really wants next weekend off to party.
I’m sadly not making this up.
Trump made the announcement in an interview with the Times of London, quoted by the Hill:
“…[D]ay one – which I will consider to be Monday as opposed to Friday or Saturday. Right? I mean my day one is gonna be Monday because I don’t want to be signing and get it mixed up with lots of celebration.”
Yes, God forbid the job of being president of the United States interfere with a good kegger. And hey, who doesn’t announce a 3-day vacation their first day on the job?
Which leaves open the question of who exactly will be president next weekend?
We know Melania and Baron are in hiding in New York City. Ivanka is still moving in. My bet is on Bannon and Flynn. Or maybe, Putin can send someone. I understand Julian Assange is looking for work.
Here’s hoping ISIS has the decency not to attack until Monday.
With the election of Donald Trump, AMERICAblog’s independent journalism and activism is more needed than ever.
