There was a news story the other day about why voters like the fact that Trump is such a “manly man.”
And it got me wondering, who says Trump is a manly-man?
In fact, I’ve always found him kind of fey. If anything, I think Trump often acts like a bad stereotype of a gay man — the waving arms, the histrionics (mosquito!), the voice, and that apartment! None of this says “manly-man” in my book.
But as Seinfeld would say, not that there’s anything wrong with it.
Well, Peter Serafinowicz, and English actor, comedian and voice artist (he appeared in Shaun of the Dead, among other films), went there. He took a Trump appearance in California and dubbed it with Liberace. (And since Serafinowicz is a voice artist, I’m wondering if he didn’t just play Liberace himself.)
It’s masterful. And really funny. And best of all, it totally works. Trump is anything but a manly-man.
Here’s Trump as Liberace:
For any of you millennials who don’t know who Liberace was, he was an actor, singer and Las Vegas showman who was over-the-top gay, but the women still swooned over him, and everyone simply pretended he was straight. He was also a tremendous piano player.
And for good measure, here’s Trump vs. the mosquito:
