Donald Trump supporter Peter King, a Republican congressman, told CNN today that he’d be okay with police officers running undercover operations inside Catholic churches in order to keep track of “what’s being said inside.”
King made the remarks in the context of a question from CNN about whether the issue of “mosque surveillance” came up during Trump’s security meeting held yesterday with various alleged experts.
Here’s how King responded:
“I’m a Catholic. If the police want to have a police officer in the church to hear what’s being said, that’s fine with me. If you have nothing to hide, maybe you even can make some converts.”
Yes, well, I’m a Christian too, and people would flip if undercover cops were listening to our sermons in order to determine if they were politically correct.
