Donald Trump complained again today about the baby that interrupted his speech earlier this week. At the time, Trump asked the mother to remove the baby.
Trump tried to claim that he was “joking” when he previously asked the mother to remove her crying child from the auditorium. But the way he describes the baby’s crying doesn’t sound like a joke.
And yet again, the poor mother of the baby is dragged back into the story.
But what’s important about this story isn’t the baby, or Trump’s reaction to it. It’s the fact that, yet again, Trump just can’t let go of stories that do nothing to advance his candidacy. He has to have the final word; has to “correct” the record, as he sees it — even if by doing so he’s furthering a bad story, and taking away from good ones.
